SavePoint v1.1: New Features and Improvements

We've been listening to your feedback and working on improvements since launch. SavePoint v1.1 is now available with performance optimizations, new features, and quality-of-life improvements based on what you've told us matters most.

Performance Improvements

Speed matters when you're reviewing your finances. This update includes optimization work across the application:

Faster dashboard loading. The main dashboard now loads more efficiently, especially for users with several months of transaction history.

Improved chart rendering. Net worth trends and cashflow charts render more smoothly, particularly when viewing longer time periods.

Better memory management. We've reduced the application's memory footprint during extended sessions.

New Interactive Tutorials

Getting started with SavePoint should feel approachable, not overwhelming. We've added interactive tutorials that walk you through core features step by step:

Setting up your first account. Entering transactions. Creating a budget. Understanding the balance sheet. Using the FIRE planning tools.

These tutorials appear when you first access each feature, but you can revisit them anytime from the Help menu.

💡 Key Point

The new tutorials are optional and dismissible. If you're already comfortable with a feature, just skip the tutorial and continue with your workflow. They won't interrupt experienced users.

Bug Fixes

We've addressed issues reported by users since launch:

Fixed a calculation edge case in the Monte Carlo simulations for FIRE planning. Resolved display issues on certain screen resolutions. Corrected a bug where some imported transactions could duplicate under specific conditions. Fixed date formatting in exports for non-US locales. Addressed occasional slowdowns when editing transactions in bulk.

Quality of Life Improvements

Small improvements that make daily use smoother:

Category dropdown now remembers your most recently used categories. Transaction entry form preserves the last-used account for faster repeat entries. Keyboard shortcuts added for common actions (see Help > Keyboard Shortcuts). Improved error messages that actually explain what went wrong.

How to Update

If you purchased SavePoint through our website, you can download the latest version from your account dashboard or the software downloads page. Your existing data will remain intact during the update.

As always, we recommend backing up your data before any software update. SavePoint makes this easy through Settings > Backup & Restore.

⚠️ Important Warning

Back up your SavePoint data before updating. While updates are designed to preserve your data, having a backup gives you peace of mind.

What's Next

We're continuing to develop SavePoint based on user feedback. Some areas we're actively working on include enhanced reporting options, additional dashboard customization, and mobile companion features (while maintaining our offline-first commitment).

Have a feature request or found a bug? We genuinely want to hear from you. Reach out through our support page or community forums.
