SavePoint v1.6.2: Bulk Edit Arrives, Plus a Complete Help Guide Rebuild

Version 1.6.2 is here, built around two things. The first is a brand newBulk Edit feature for the Transactions page: select transactions across every page, change up to eight fields in a single operation, preview every change before anything is saved, and undo it afterward from a persistent, conflict-safe history. The second is a complete rebuild of our in-app help guides. We rewrote all 11 of them to be clearer, more useful, and focused on how you actually use SavePoint. Rounding it out: a switchable Transactions table style, protection for those completing the setup for the first time, and a solid round of theme and interface fixes. Bulk Edit: Change Many Transactions at Once

Did you make a mistake somewhere along the way? We already added the ability to filter by import batch, but that stops short of allowing you to make mass updates to problems you may have had. Editing transactions one at a time is fine for a stray typo. It is painful when you need to recategorize a whole month of imports, tag every business expense, or fix a merchant name across dozens of rows. Bulk Edit turns that into a single, previewable operation.

Select exactly what you mean, across pages. Row selection now survives page navigation and table re-renders, so your checked rows stay checked as you move around. With pagination on, checking the header select-all offers a spreadsheet and Gmail-style "Select all N matching filters" banner to extend your selection across every page. Shift+Click a second checkbox to select an entire range, spreadsheet style, and the whole checkbox cell is now a click target, so you no longer have to hit the tiny box. Changing any filter clears the selection, so you can never silently edit rows you cannot see.

Change up to eight fields in one pass. A new Bulk Edit (N) button opens a modal where every field starts off; only the sections you enable are applied:

• Description - find and replace (case-insensitive by default, with a case-sensitive toggle), set to a new value, or add a prefix or suffix (your spaces are preserved exactly).
• Category - amounts automatically re-sign to match the new category type.
• Currency - relabel the currency (amounts are not converted, and SavePoint tells you so).
• Tags - add, remove, replace all, or clear, using the same clickable pill picker as the per-transaction editor.
• Notes - replace, add to the end, or add to the beginning.
• Account - reassign for reporting.
• Owner (Household mode) - assign to a member, Shared, or Unassigned.
• Return / Refund / Credit - mark or unmark, for expense transactions.

Nothing is applied until you say so. A preview step shows how many transactions each change will touch, plus every skip and the exact reason (split transactions, no match found, already has that value, and so on). A "Show affected transactions" drill-down lists every row that will change, with each field's old value struck through next to the new one, in friendly names rather than IDs. When it looks right, Apply is labeled with the exact row count.

Bulk Edit works in both table styles, in both budgeting modes (it is fully envelope-safe, respecting closed-period rules exactly like a single edit), and with pagination on or off.

And every bulk edit can be undone. The success toast carries an Undo button, and a persistent History and Undo viewer keeps your ten most recent batches, surviving restarts. Undo is conflict-safe: newer changes always win, so anything you edited or deleted after a bulk edit is skipped and reported, never overwritten. You can undo batches in any order and unwind a chain of edits cleanly.

Every Help Guide, Rebuilt

We rebuilt SavePoint's entire in-app help system. All 11 guides (Dashboard, Transactions, Accounts, Cash Flow, Balance Sheet, Budget, Goals, FIRE, Yearly Trends, Reports, and Settings) were rewritten to be clearer, more useful, and focused on how you actually use the app, with technical jargon stripped out and every guide made accurate to the offline edition of SavePoint. The Budget guide now walks through both budgeting styles, Classic and Envelope, rather than just one, and we tightened up the copy across the board for consistency.

As part of the rebuild, the guides are now available in all 8 supported languages, alongside the guided page tutorials, so the help speaks whatever language you run SavePoint in.

Choose Your Transactions Table Style

The Transactions View settings gained a Table Style switch, so you can choose between the traditional table and the collapsible, Balance-Sheet-style table right where you are working. Your choice is remembered and stays in sync with Settings > Preferences > Display.

Setup Progress Guard

Navigating away from an unfinished first-time setup (by clicking any navigation link, for example Settings) now shows a clear warning that your setup progress is not saved, with a simple Stay or Leave choice, instead of silently bouncing you back to the wizard. The normal finish-to-dashboard path is unaffected.

Fixes and Refinements

• Pagination toggle now appears in the traditional table mode, not just the collapsible one.
• View settings, the View button, and the column labels (including the Owner, Tags, and Notes headers) are now fully translated.
• Mainframe theme: solid colored buttons inside button groups were rendering black-on-black, and now show their accent color across the app.
• Dark themes: toast action buttons that could be invisible now use a style that reads on every theme.
• Bulk Edit history timestamps now display in your local timezone and date format.
• Prefix and suffix spaces are preserved exactly as typed.
• Edit Mode: rapidly pressing Ctrl+S or Save All no longer creates duplicate transactions.
