SavePoint v1.0.3 Now Available - More Efficient Spreadsheet Imports

Last edited: March 15, 2026

Version 1.0.3 is here, and while it may not be the longest changelog we've ever posted, this one should make a real difference for anyone who imports data regularly. Thank you again for being part of the SavePoint community. Your feedback and support continue to shape the future of SavePoint, and we are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have you along for the ride.

The Problem

If you've been using SavePoint's import tools for Transactions or Balance Sheet, you already know the flow. You export a spreadsheet from your bank or financial institution, bring it into SavePoint, map the columns, and you're good to go. It's designed to make the process of getting your financial data into SavePoint as painless as possible. As a quick refresher, Transactions represent your cashflow (income/money in and expenses/money out), while the Balance Sheet represents the snapshot of your account balances at any given time, which together make up your net worth (assets minus liabilities).

But here's the thing. While most financial institutions format their spreadsheets with the header row as the first row in the file, that isn't always the case. Some banks include disclaimer text, account information, or other rows above the actual column headers. Previously, that meant you had to open the file, delete those extra rows, save it, and then import it into SavePoint. Not the end of the world, but when you're doing it every month across multiple accounts, it adds up.

The Fix: Header Row Selector

This update adds a Header Row selector directly within SavePoint, so you can now indicate which row contains your column headers without having to open and manually clean up each spreadsheet file every month. In the Column Mapping step for both Transactions and Balance Sheet imports, you'll now see a selector that lets you cycle through each row and preview the header names directly within SavePoint. Pick the right one, and the rest of the import flows exactly as before. This is the first step in the import flow and should save you meaningful time if you import data regularly.

It's a straightforward change, but it was one of those things that once you notice, you can't stop noticing. We're glad to have it sorted out.

Other Minor Updates

Transactions Import - Account Selection Improvement: In Step 2 of the spreadsheet import, the Account Selection dropdown no longer defaults to an account. This aims to prevent accidentally attributing an upload to the wrong account. It is a small change, but hopefully will help minimize minor hiccups along the way.

Help File Updates: We included a few minor tweaks to the help files to better represent how Account Balances are updated and to clarify the spreadsheet import process.
