Version 1.0.4.1 is a focused maintenance update centered on license stability and improving the activation experience. Not everyone will need to update to this version, but you may want to do so to stay on the latest release and save a bit of space. If you have ever been unexpectedly asked to reactivate your license after connecting or disconnecting a peripheral, this update resolves that. Thank you as always for being part of the SavePoint community. Your feedback continues to shape where SavePoint goes next, and we are grateful to have you along for the ride.
License Stability Improvement
If you have ever plugged in a new monitor, docked your laptop, or swapped out a peripheral and suddenly found yourself staring at a license reactivation prompt, you know how jarring that can be. It doesn't happen to everyone, but when it does, it's frustrating, especially when your license is perfectly valid and nothing has actually changed about your setup.
We improved how SavePoint recognizes your computer for licensing purposes. Previously, connecting or disconnecting certain peripherals, such as certain types of monitors or docking stations, could cause SavePoint to ask you to reactivate. This has been resolved. If you haven't had any issues with this, you will not notice any changes at all.
Your existing license will continue to work and no action is needed on your part. We do recommend launching this update for the first time with the same setup you normally use, or the setup you originally activated with. After that first launch, you can connect or disconnect peripherals freely without being asked to reactivate.
Activation Instructions Improved
This one is mostly a hidden update for those who already have the program up and running. The license activation window now provides clearer step-by-step instructions and includes a direct link to the License Redemption page as well as a link to our video walkthrough on YouTube. Both links can be copied with a single click and pasted into your browser, so you do not have to go hunting for resources when you are in the middle of getting set up.
Built-In Video Tutorials Removed
This one was a tough call. The built-in video tutorials have been removed from the program and now link directly to our YouTube channel, where you can always find the latest versions of all tutorial videos. To stay true to our local-only promise, the program does not navigate you to the website directly. You will need to copy the links to open them in your browser.
The upside of this change is significant: it drops the Windows installer size from over 1GB down to less than 150MB, which should make downloading and updating considerably faster for most users.
